Lauren McDow is a Career Consultant at Truist, the recently merged company combining SunTrust and BB&T. Prior to this position, she was SunTrust’s University Relations Manager. She led a team of 9 college recruiters who sourced and selected 300 interns and full-time college hires annually. In 2018, the team hosted 64 events at 18 campuses, yielding 2,500 applicants, 780 campus interviews, and 370 final round interviews. Prior to this position, she led the Corporate Functions rotational development program for early career talent across finance, risk, human resources, IT, and marketing. She oversaw the recruitment, selection, and placement of analysts and interns. More than 700 students applied in 2017. She facilitated the first graduating cohort’s post-program role process through partnerships with recruiters, managers, and analysts. Prior to joining SunTrust, Lauren served as a Corporate Relations Manager in the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. In this role, she created career development initiatives for 1,400 undergraduate business students. Her primary goal was to teach students how to present themselves to employers and to encourage them to take a more aggressive approach to the career development process and to build a portfolio of leadership and work experiences that makes them competitive in the job market. Lauren has an undergraduate business degree from Georgia Tech and a master’s degree in educational psychology from Georgia State. She was selected for the Leadership Georgia Class of 2016, served as the Coralwood (preschool for children with disabilities and typically developing students) Foundation President for two years, and founded the Georgia Tech Campus Closet, a resource for students who cannot afford business attire. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her husband and sons Eston (11) and Liam (8).
