Jennifer James exhibits strong leadership skills, a true passion for helping others develop, and a personal commitment to continuous learning. She possesses 15+ years of senior-level experience in business, human resources, and talent development. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Coaching Moments, LLC, a Human Resources Consulting firm specializing in training and development, organizational leadership, performance management, succession planning, employee onboarding/engagement, and coaching services tailored to meet the needs of current leaders, aspiring leaders, and small business owners.

Prior to owning her own business, Jennifer worked in the higher education industry serving as a Regional Human Resources Manager responsible for supporting the HR needs of seven of Virginia’s Community Colleges. She spent much of her career within the financial services industry and served as Senior Vice President/Director of Learning and Development of a Richmond, VA based community bank. In this role, Jennifer worked closely with the bank’s Executive Management Team to align talent development strategies with corporate goals and objectives. Additionally, she acted as lead facilitator/designer of the bank’s 12-month leadership development program designed to equip current and future leaders with essential management/leadership competencies. Jennifer holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute and a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) Certification from the Society for Human Resources. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree with a minor in Human Resources from Mary Baldwin University and her Master in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Capital from Virginia Commonwealth University. Most recently in 2019, she successfully completed Old Dominion University’s Community College Leadership Graduate Certificate program. Outside of work, she enjoys boating, traveling, baking, listening to music, and spending time with her family, friends, and beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Leo.
